We only use ours outside of the tub. With weak knee strength, this is a real help when getting up after a bath. It also helps a lot with getting in and out of the tub without fear of slipping, and is great to hold on to when stepping over the edge of the tub after a shower. It is not difficult to install or move it with the tool provided, as long as you have the strength to tighten and loosen it well. For its quality and suburban value, the price is surprisingly low. There are no downsides to this very good product. We are very glad we have it.
