Review on Narrow Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle, 32 oz - Nalgene Tritan by Oliver Waiker

I currently have 4 Nalgene 32oz narrow neck water bottles. I have one at home, one in the car, one at work and one as a backup. They are strong as nails and airtight. I like the easy twist cap as it keeps the spot you rest your lips closed/clean until you are ready to drink. I only buy bottle necks as I'm much less likely to spill water when drinking (especially while driving!). However, there are inserts and adapters you can buy for wide-mouth bottles (see REI). I've accidentally dropped them on concrete, rocks, etc. a few times and they've never cracked. They will usually claw the ground if hit hard enough. Most bottles I own have scratches on the bottom from being placed on a hard surface, but the scratches aren't really visible. All decals that are printed are somewhat susceptible to heavy abrasion. The worst I've ever damaged is when I was taking it out in a kayak in the North Sea and something in the lake water was causing it to constantly fog up outside. I was never able to delete it, but it didn't affect functionality in any way. These bottles should only be used for water as adding sweet or sour will permanently change the taste of the water. They must be cleaned regularly, otherwise they can smell slightly and frequent use will cause mold on the lid and threads. I recommend using a strong bottle brush and hot soapy water. They can be washed in the dishwasher; But first remove the cap entirely and either hand wash or put in the cutlery holder at the bottom. I once left my bottle upside down on the top shelf, with the cap unscrewed but still attached with a cord. The soft plastic of the lid melted on contact with the dishwasher syringe. Luckily you can order replacement caps! I often grab my bottles by the cap tether and after a few years they start to get small cracks in the cap; but so far none have broken. All in all, if you need a simple and durable water bottle to take with you on an adventure, this is the one for you! The 32 oz is my favorite because it has a lot of water but is a manageable weight and I can still hold it with one hand on the side. They come in such different colors that I rarely find myself in a room with someone who has the same one.
