Review on 7-8 Inch Natural Sea Sponge with Wool by Monica Smith

I was reading an old household book from the 1950's and it recommended I buy two lambswool sponges. The book states that natural lambswool sponges are the best quality for home use. I bought two sponges that were 6 to 7 inches in size. These are my first natural sponges. Both appear to be nearly identical in size and shape. The natural exterior has a soft texture. The cut surface is velvety smooth. After soaking and rinsing the sponge, they only had a very mild scent that reminded me of the sea. The scent is mild and not unpleasant. I'm sure natural fibers are much stronger than artificial sponges. I suspect they will resist tearing unlike artificial sponges. I uploaded some photos to show the size of the sponge from 6 to 7 inches. All photos show the same sponge. This size fits the hand very well.
