Remodeled the front of my 2002 S10 and in the process decided to replace the rear shocks. Not a huge difference in terms of a bouncy ride, but that's common on smaller trucks, especially when the bed is empty. However, they leveled and raised the rear to match the new shocks I put on up front. Shortly after installation I put together about 800 pounds of cinder blocks and the shocks held up well. Some noticeable leaf spring sag (a future project), but the truck still handles well and doesn't sag over bumps or culvert crossings (Virginia has a lot of flooded roads). You'll still feel every bump and rumble in the road, but these trucks aren't Cadillacs.
