Just what I was looking for after sharpening all my knives professionally. (I used to keep them in a shallow desk drawer with cardboard sleeves). My largest knife is a 12" chef's knife (10.125" tip to tip) and it fits perfectly. I've only had it a few months but it's holding up well. My workspace doesn't have room for magnetic wall bars and I don't want to clutter my countertop with a block so this was a great solution. My shallow kitchen drawer (which I assume is a standard size; I'm not at home right now or I would have measured it) has enough room for 3 knives and my thermometer for instant reading between the bottom of the block and the end. Drawer and space for 3 long wooden spoons on the side.
