I am working on the tedious task of painting the oak surfaces in my house

This concealer makes life so much easier! I am working on the tedious task of painting the oak paneling in my house white. It's going to be a long process :) Taping and prep work is the least fun of any job, so anything that can help make it faster and smoother is a winner in my book. I bought this mask after seeing it on a YouTube video and I can't believe how much easier it has made my life! I use duct tape and brown roll paper to install the floors just below the floorboards. This keeps my floors about 9 inches from the wall, which is enough to protect them while the paneling is being painted. I don't have to spread solid fabric on the floor and the self-adhesive backing keeps it from sliding off where I need it most. I also bought a foldable plastic sheet for the window covering. To do this I use blue masking tape along with plastic and tape the top of the window just around the edge. (I have vinyl windows so I don't have to paint the window frames myself.) From there I can fold the plastic, glue the sides of the plastic to the sides of the frame, and glue the bottom of the plastic along the bottom of the frame. Then my entire window and frame is protected from paint. You CAN buy foil and paper that come pre-taped and you can unroll them by hand, but it's expensive and it is. A LOT OF. EASIER. Serious. It's smooth and fast. I don't have to mess with wrapping, folding, or tearing masking tape. I don't accidentally put tape on loose plastic or paper. My haircuts always come out nice, straight and even. It's VERY fast! I can wrap entire room floors and protect them in 5 minutes or less. It may seem psychologically difficult to justify buying a tool for something you actually CAN do yourself, but when you're doing multiple projects or a large, labor-intensive project like painting a crown molding, the money saved is more than worth the time saved . We have to finish the whole house to paint it and the walls will be the next project. I benefit a lot from that. Also, I can take it to friends and family's homes to help them mask their painting projects, they usually pay for their own ribbon, paper, plastic etc. I feel like I've already gotten more than I have it was worth money. Don't forget to buy a blade, unfortunately it's not included. Save some money and just buy a sharp plastic blade and ditch the "paper" blade. You can cut paper with a plastic blade, but you cannot cut plastic with a paper blade. There's no reason to buy both and keep trying to change them.

Pros
  • Trimmer Blades
Cons
  • Small Parts
