The drain holes in the floor of our home's brickwork are a nest and entry point for creatures of all shapes and sizes. After cleaning out the holes with a concrete drill, I stuck small crumpled pieces into each drain hole. This allows moisture to escape to its destination, and insects don't like traversing pure copper. Works amazing! Definitely recommended for this type of application.
