I didn't want to use my bulky containers to put them in the freezer and the portions were prohibitively large. What made me cook a giant pot of cabbage soup, maybe it's three cabbages I bought at a sale? Who knows. I ended up with at least 3-4 gallons of soup. That's a lot even for my soup-loving family of three. And one of us is a little boy, so I can't expect him to overeat. This prompted me to search the internet for a way to freeze my bounty in portions that are easy to reheat. Eureka! Ziploc freezer bag QUARTT. Ideal portions for a very hungry man or a mother and child. I placed the extra soup in freezer bags, labeled them, then placed them in the freezer (flat) until frozen. Then carefully place in the freezer. Works perfectly! And now I don't have to throw away a great soup because we couldn't finish it! Thank you Ziplock! You saved the day again! :)
