Bought to replace a broken box fan. I live in a one bedroom apartment in New York and needed something that would move the air conditioner from one end of my apartment to the other (about 18 feet away). It's very hot in my apartment because I live on the top floor. The old box fan may have cooled two thirds of the apartment but this thing moves air throughout the apartment, I can feel its breeze when I walk through the front door (on the opposite end where the air conditioning is) which I couldn't with box- Fan. I also love to paint and this thing also allows the paint to dry a lot faster. The delivery took longer than expected, but it's worth the investment, I'm much more comfortable in the cool. It's smaller than a typical industrial air motor, but I don't mind since it's for personal use only. The noise level is the same as a box fan and that doesn't bother me.
