A must-have upgrade for your Jeep!

Well, all the reviews are correct, but nobody really gives all the important details that help to understand the reviews. I will try to fill this gap. First, this is a typical Rugged Ridge product. Well designed, well executed and reasonably priced. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's junk. It simply means it may not be as durable as something made from other (more expensive materials) or not as sophisticated as other companies' products. I'll explain what that means in a moment. 13551.11 is a dashboard kit without a phone holder that attaches to the ball. It took me a long time to figure this out and I'd like to save you the search. It also works great for the 2016 Wrangler (Unlimited). Speaking of the fit, that's pretty close and you'll need to pay attention to the fit to avoid scratching the edge of the tablet, as other reviewers have pointed out. To do this, you must do one or the other (or both) of two things. The edges aren't "sharp" as they can cut you, but they are sharp and hard as they can scratch the tablet's softer plastic. embedded in the dashboard. To avoid this you need to avoid the first mistake I made when I thought it needed to be "levered". It's not like this. He just snaps. You can round the edges with a reamer, file, or other tool to round out the bottom edges, as several other reviewers have pointed out. You don't have to do this if you don't want to, but you do have to be careful. The mount simply snaps into place. So if you remove the screw as instructed and line up the hooks over the first two vents, just push them straight down (you may have to rotate them a bit). ' to push it down so the hooks are bent enough to go over the edge of the vent), the hooks snap into place. Then install the screw and put on the cover, and the base installation is complete. As for the mount itself, I might not have been paying much attention, but there were a few things that I hoped would work the way I wanted but couldn't. to determine before I bought it. It's good that everything was exactly as I hoped: the sphere mount is a 17mm or 1" sphere, the same as Garmin mounts, a "regular" 1" sphere with frame line and many others so you can do exactly what I did with it: drop the Garmin suction cup mount and stick my GPS map right where I could easily see it! It's a little looser than the Garmin, but not enough to move it around. It's just a little less tight. I will revisit this review if the handle breaks as several other reviewers have pointed out. It was installed in August 2016, so we'll see if there's a problem with plastic aging under the sun. or any other device for attaching cleats. It turns out that the mount is in three parts (not including the bolt and socket) and the ball mount and the part with a (yellow) brass insert and large hole are all separate parts. You install them in different combinations depending on what you want to customize. There is a small thumbwheel at the base of the bracket that is used to loosen and tighten the fasteners. I think that's a HUGE plus because it gives you the option to install other stuff in there! Overall I'm very satisfied and I think I'll buy it as a gift for other JK and JKU owners I know!
