These cases do what they're designed to do. I've used them for a couple of rides in around 25 degrees and they keep my toes from getting too cold. Toes at the end of the ride (15-20 miles) are a bit cold but don't hurt since without them. My sock is ventilated with mesh. They are suitable for narrow road bike shoes. They just about fit on my size 12 Shimano MTB. I have size L/XL. There is no possibility to connect the Velcro. I cut off the strap. Cases hold normally, but without a strap. I put it in and take it out with no problems with covers. Ride in the cold but be careful on the ice!
