Review on 🎁 Wooden Puzzle for Birthday or Christmas - ROKR by Derek Evans

We got this for my teenage daughter who is very good at mechanics for Christmas. We were satisfied with both the appearance and the quality of the goods and packaging. The assembly requires a lot of patience and skill. So from that point of view it was perfect for us, but maybe not for someone younger. And when assembled it looks amazing, just like the picture. So why only 3 starts? Due to 2 big disappointments. First, it's not a mechanical watch - the watch runs on batteries (and runs too fast to be useful anyway). I think it's probably mentioned in the description if I read more closely. What actually works is the timer and the biggest downside of the whole product is that it doesn't work properly. The gears just weren't aligned properly to keep it running, and no amount of tweaking or fiddling helped. I've come to the conclusion that you just can't get the precision you need with a tree. Although well made, the gears still didn't deform too much for proper alignment. A lesson on why real mechanical watches use metal.
