I didn't know how good it was until I used the cheap

. Have been using this shaker every day for a few months now. I always loved that and didn't give it much importance until I visited my parents and bought a shaker from a local shop to mix drinks for them. The difference between them is day and night. Maybe what I picked up there was just a piece of junk, but where it didn't work I really highlighted where the Piña model excels. Now that I see how good I've been with this shaker, I feel compelled to recommend it. Excellent Features: - Seals tightly with good taste at the bottom of the smaller piece when tilted. I've never shaken anything in the face with the piña, but the cheap ones always leak a bit. It comes off very easily using the standard Boston shaker method (hold the large section down and the top tilted toward you. Push the top away from you with your thumb and smack the side of the bottom. The top snaps on the other side with a nice click and lift...). The cheap one was extremely difficult to get loose once a good seal was finally hammered in. He has seen many cycles in my dishwasher and hasn't given it any thought at all. Some people in these reviews commented negatively on the shaker's weight. It's certainly heavier than average, but I don't think that's going to be a problem unless you're downing hundreds of drinks a night, and maybe even then. In any case, for home use I wouldn't call it a problem. I've also seen comments about the bottom covers being unscrewed, but I haven't come across it. It looks like the manufacturer changed the way the caps are attached and fixed the previous issue. So you're done. It's a simple device but perfect for the task.
