Review on 4 Channel 4 Camera Defender 4K - 1st Generation Legacy by Stephen Burgstaller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best bang for 4k buck camera system. Period.

At $429 for a security system with 8 4K cameras, you can't beat this price. The cameras themselves are quite oddly shaped and their field of view isn't the widest at around 80 degrees compared to many others at around 90+, but the video quality on them is phenomenal. I've had absolutely no problems using their app for live view, playing back files from days or weeks ago, and even fine-tuning the cameras. However, I do recommend you have some sort of viewing source that can display 4k to see how good the video quality really is. While the phone app is limited to displaying 1080p, you'll notice 4k best when extracting files from the DVR. You never know when additional details from a video might be useful, e.g. B. to identify faces or even license plates. I've had no network issues when the DVR ever got disconnected from my pathetic 15Mbps ATT internet, and the system's GUI itself, while a little confusing to the first user, will become fairly easy to navigate over time. I am currently using cameras in continuous recording mode and can have 2 weeks of footage available. I haven't had any issues with these cameras in the past 3 months and would highly recommend them for the video quality and price alone! I have had other systems such as Zosi, Swann, Night Owl and LTS and would highly recommend the Defender system instead. I can't stress enough what a bargain this is for the video quality you get from them. PROS: Amazing video quality £429 deal for 8 4k cameras and a 2TB hard drive. Easy to use application. No shutdown issues. Widest viewing angles No desktop app (not a big deal for many mobile users) No 4K playback on phone app Inexpensive quality power adapters for DVRs and cameras

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Fits

Never has an 'upgrade' felt more like a downgrade.
