I was very happy to find this as I have long wanted to try a silver needle, but the process of making a conventional primer was difficult, expensive and required tools. I have neither the space nor the patience. The pigments will settle over time and settle quite firmly so shake the bottle VERY thoroughly before use and perhaps stir the contents with a skewer or chopstick to ensure the entire contents of the bottle are thoroughly mixed. (If you hear the ball bearings rattling there, you'll know you're on your way.) Other than that, it was easy to apply to my paper, and after the substrate was dry I had a blast learning to paint with a silver needle . . I would definitely recommend this product and will buy again when the first bottle is gone.
