Ideal for kosher salt. The holes are TOO BIG for salt.

I've just changed my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars because I'm ordering another set 6 years later. There is no corrosion on the metal surface for six years. I get more for free because they are so perfect for kosher salt. While you're not expecting the usual salt and pepper pots, you'll find these shakers useful and durable.
