I have examined this item under a magnifying glass and to the best of my knowledge I cannot find any markings that would indicate complete assembly. In other words, the product appears to have been boxed prior to the final assembly of the cube cover that protects the internal electrical components. It also means that it somehow went through the verification process. And yes, made in China.
