Review on Cascade Complete Powder Dishwasher Detergent by Trisha Hunter

I bought two boxes in one pack and was surprised by the weight of the box! There must have been something solid or at least heavy in that box. I'm sure the weight means something valuable. The mechanic advised me, as did another reviewer, to use a powder detergent instead of the store-bought gel that I used. The results were amazing on first boot; the dishes shone like new and I believe that with a strong detergent we extend the life of the washing machine. My lungs are sensitive to dust and I started coughing as I pulled the wrapped boxes from the cart. . Then I saw warnings about the possible toxicity of the powder and now I'm very cautious about using Cascade powder. I'm not sure how much I should put in a washing machine that's 15 years old and has no owner. manual, so I'm guessing about a teaspoon. Seems like a good starting point.
