I had to laugh out loud when I saw this product. 60 watts from something so small? I ordered one and hooked it up to a power supply, a dummy load and a function generator. I slowly increased the power, expecting it to turn to smoke at any moment, but it didn't. As it turns out, this is a Class D amp, so all standard expectations no longer count. I couldn't get the full 60W into 8 ohms due to voltage limitations, but it was fine without a 36W heatsink. My non-contact thermometer showed 160 degrees Fahrenheit on the transistors and slightly less on the chip, but nothing smoked. Someday I'll hook it up to a speaker to see how it actually sounds.
