Review on Fusionbrands PushBerry: A Red, Kid-Friendly 2-in-1 Tool for Effortless Strawberry Stem Removal, Hulling, and Slicing by Amy Washington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A unique strawberry corer and slicer, very similar to an apple corer and slicer but a bit overpriced for a monopoly.

Works well but I wish it had stainless steel blades. Something of a junior apple core cutter, I wasted a lot of strawberries and wasted a tedious time cutting stems and leaves when I was juicing them. I haven't made much juice lately, but instead make a banana strawberry smoothie or sometimes a banana split. Either way it works well or just to make a bowl of mixed fruit or strawberries with cream or sugar. EASY TO USE: You simply line up the strawberries, center them and push them through the blades and center core. I cut the middle core and eat it too, it doesn't look like an apple core but it helps shed the leaves and leaves little to no waste at the end. Considering the blades aren't metal and this is a relatively small device, it's a bit overpriced, perhaps because it's a little fancy. A quality apple core and a slicer cost the same and have metal blades. This allows you to grow quite large strawberries, but I know that sometimes in season you can get them almost or even larger than an apple. You have to use a knife to cut them, it's not that big but it's enough for most medium sized strawberries. Recommended, you might wish for a cheaper one but this is unique at the moment so they don't have to compete on price as much as other tools such as egg slicers, apple removers etc.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
