Recently installed 72-inch, 150-gallon aquarium. Here's what I did. Set Inkbird to 80 degrees. I connected the heater to 400w and set it to 82 degrees. plugged into a separate wall outlet. It is set at 77 degrees. Inkbird regulates the temperature by turning off the 400W when the water reaches 80 degrees. If the Inkbird fails, the 400 watts should only heat up to 82 degrees. When the 400w stops working, the 200w kicks in and raises the water temperature to 77 degrees, which is what I checked first. The 400W is enough to heat the tank itself, but it probably won't get too hot if that meant it would lock up and Inkbird will crash. There is almost no risk of the water overheating to dangerous levels, and the temperature should never drop below 70 degrees. Unless two of the three units fail. be incredible.
