I bought it for hard drive testing, backup and cloning. Windows will recognize both drives when connected and you can easily format and copy them. However, when using tools like Seatools to diagnose discs, both discs will report the same make/model which can confuse disc diagnostics if the tool can access individual dives at all. I can use another single bay dock instead. The USB-C connection is handy for extra bandwidth when using both drives.
