You take the can in your hand (depending on which handle fits - inside or outside, depending on the size of the can) and hardly have to turn it to work. Another article really helps if you are tired of breaking your nails opening jars with bullets. You really have to be careful with ball caps. Oddly enough, my mischievous 10 month old pup (half hole) stole a smaller opener from our counter and chewed one end of it. Given the strength of her jaw, she didn't kill him and left him after a while. It is very durable and well made. Both items are included. I recommend them.
