Review on 🔧 New Genuine GM 55573746 Camshaft Cover - Improved Replacement: Part 25198874 by Emmanuel Chouinard

Was the correct replacement part for my 2012 ECO 1.4. I only gave it 4 stars because GM engineers made this part a little cheap. I had to replace it because the built in PCV valve failed causing my idle to be uneven. It issued code P0171. Problems I've encountered even after watching many installation videos: 1. Hard to make sure the rubber gasket will fall off when trying to install it. I used a dental mirror to make sure it was set correctly all around. This is after it was leaked because it didn't sit right the first time. 2. This is an important point and easy to miss as the screw holes are on a horizontal surface and there is oil in the holes. Some of mine were half full or more. The oil is not compressed, the bolts are not tightened properly and the seal is leaking. I used compressed air to blow out the screw holes. After installing the gasket correctly and cleaning oil from the bolt holes, the gasket was fine and my leakage issues were resolved. I would suggest using a torque wrench to tighten the manifold as over tightening will break the bolts or plastic manifold and under torque may cause a leak. Also, there's a specific order you want to use to make sure it's tightened properly.
