Review on Delphi TC2942 Suspension Ball Joint by Vince Preston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality part and it's holding up great, Delphi hasn't let me down yet.

No problem, the ball joint fitted easily into the steering knuckle. Half a year on some of the worst roads and lasted. Good luck with the Delphi, as long as the sway bars hold up the BJ will hold up so far, I prefer their coils over the stock Denso. I bought new sets of both and Delphi seems to be a sliver better. I have a card sensor on the go. Although I haven't had any QC issues with Delphi, with tie rods and suspension, the Delphi warranty almost matches the parts cost at 1/4 the price. It doesn't mean anything as it doesn't mean they sell cheap crap. I compared this deal with Delphi and the difference in quality is clear. (At least in the parts I compared.) Obviously, Delphi can spend a lot more on development, materials, and testing than profitable brands. It's dollar for dollar whether I'm paying the same for a $12,000 12 month warranty part or another reputable brand with a 3 to 10X warranty. Perhaps Delphi is just hoping its products will speak for themselves, or prefers to invest less in parts and more in development/testing than the competition. When I see a suspension that, like Delphi, likes to tout OEM status, has half price tie rods with Delphi's double time guarantee and quad mile guarantee, it seems odd. But the level of awareness of their brand is much higher, and even used spare parts have not failed me and have not caused even a single concern. When other brands that are usually more respected by the Honda community let me down. However, I have settled on smaller and comparable brands than Delphi due to the gap between warranty and price. When you're paying a respectable price for a part, the warranty shows consumers how much the company stands behind their product. When a part fails, most people don't have time to send it in and wait, they replace it before checking if it's under warranty and start sending it in or other associated steps.

Pros
  • Shocks, struts and suspension
Cons
  • Drill kit
