I was disappointed because the ink didn't flow smoothly from the tips of these broad tipped markers except for the silver marker which worked very well. Silver was also the only ink that exhibited a true metallic sheen. These pens can still be used if I repeat my lines until the color is consistent, but the best set of metal markers comes from Prang: Prang Metallic Washable Markers. In addition, Prang gives you an additional color (green) and the Prang set is cheaper. Both sets of markers are advertised as acid-free (archival quality), but the Prang markers flow more freely, creating a wider line. Both sets of pens can be used on both dark and light colored paper. Prang markers dry in seconds on glossy paper. for example photos. American Crafts pens smudged on glossy paper after drying for a minute. I may have gotten a bad set of metal markers from American Crafts, but I've definitely switched to the Prang brand.
