Hoping for another good experience

This is my second Mushkin SSD and I hope it's as impressive as the Callisto Deluxe I bought years ago. The first impression is pretty good. It comes in an easy-to-open blister pack. The drive is quite light because the entire body is made of plastic. There is some sort of sputtering or textured finish on one side of the drive. The operating system and all necessary programs are installed in a very short time. It is much better than a mechanical drive in terms of speed. Time will tell how long…

Good value for money. Could it be that there are screws?

Based on the reviews and lower price I chose this disc despite not knowing the brand. I wanted to upgrade my existing 500GB SSD to 2TB. Installed the drive, cloned the existing SSD, increased the partition size and booted with no problems. Later setbacks aside, this appears to be a good deal. However, there is a small note. Why don't SSD manufacturers include mounting screws? It's not just about Mushkin, my last SSD purchase was Western Digital and there were no screws in the kit either. The…

Works as it should. in Computers and Accessories

Works great installed in a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF with a clean install of Windows 10 using the USB media creation tool. The system works quickly and smoothly! I ran a CrystalDISkMark test with a photo of the results for anyone who's interested (it's connected to a SATA III (6.0Gbps) port). No problems so far, other than no software for this SSD, which surprised me. I was expecting some sort of SSD toolbox downloaded from the Mushkin website for monitoring SSD health, updating firmware and…

Really good SSD from a reputable RAM manufacturer

This is the first time I've bought a Mushkin SSD. However, I have purchased their RAM a number of times in the past and have had good luck with them. Based on this experience, I decided to try this SSD. I was not disappointed. This disc is very fast and very well made. The read and write times are very fast and met all my expectations for the Mushkin brand. Totally worth the price if you need a good and reliable SSD for your desktop or laptop. Highly recommended!

I have never been disappointed with a Mushkin storage product

I have purchased many Mushkin products over the years for as long as I can remember. I have never been disappointed. I still have memory modules from the early 2000s that work fine. This 1TB SSD is no exception. It works well, it's fast (about 530MB/s read, 490MB/s write. No sign of heat yet. I moved a 240GB SSD onto it so it's only 1/4 full, but it runs faster than my old ssd price right considering current market conditions (coronavirus impact on product availability etc.)

Defective - see photos - UPDATE - still defective

I will replace it. Until I get a new device to test and use I have to leave negative feedback. The drive makes a "reel whistle" when writing files and has a terrible write speed in the 32k to 256k range. See also the attached photo. If the replacement works correctly I will revisit this review. UPDATE: Hard drive replacement suffers from the same issue. I get a refund and order a different brand. avoid it

Mushkin SSD should not be worn on a hot date.

Okay, the seller asked me to mention "thickness" and "clarity". The thickness of the SSD is 7mm. I can't see through it at all. So it's a lot less see-through than any tights or lace nightgowns I know of, but I don't expect anyone to wear a Mushkin SSD for its transparency. Or carry an SSD for that matter. Nonetheless. Mushkin makes top quality products and they really stand behind their customers and honor their warranties. both SATA and M.2 NVME your stuff is good.

Pros
  • Great construction

  • No insurance

The second worked fine

OK, so I bought this 1TB drive and a 2TB drive for two different computers. Unfortunately, 1TB was DOA, but due to the pandemic, it took longer than Revain's return window to figure out after installation. This required me to contact the manufacturer for a warranty replacement. It wasn't a big problem for me and they took care of the issue in a timely manner. I value customer service. The new drive arrived, installed within a week and works great. Windows 10 is much faster now and my wife's…

Plenty of space to quickly store and tuck away.

I liked the speed and volume of the hard drive. Used as the boot drive and storage on a 2008 or 9 year old Sony laptop. There was a 400GB SSD drive that was said to be running out of space, it was full so I ordered that drive. When trying to get this drive to work, I found that replacing the drive was not using its full capacity. I installed this drive and it worked fine until the last 3 or 4 months when the laptop started freezing for 3 or 4 seconds every 5-10 seconds. Unable to play Bejeweled

Installed easily and works great.

Mushkin Source II - Internal 1TB SSDs I bought (two of them) were to use the Seagate and Western Digital 1TB SATA hard drives in one of my desktop - Replace computer. Dual boot, Windows 10 on one, Linux on the other. I was curious if I would have problems cloning Win 10, but I used Macrium Reflect Free for the boot partition and then Mini Tool Partition Wizard 10 for the other 6 partitions on the same drive and it ran without any problems. Then a second disk was cloned which had Debian Linux…
