Review on Protective and Stylish: Vettex Youth Football Mouthguard in Vibrant Purple by Marcus Barlow

Trainer opinion - forward!

I coach youth football and my twin sons are on the team. They both start on both sides of the ball and special teams (no, I'm not a head coach, I coach defenders) so they need good gear that protects and lasts. Like all children this age (4th grade) their teeth are like little bone saws that never stop grinding the kappa. I've tried every type and brand from UA to Wilson to Nike to Shock Doctor. Nothing has ever lasted more than a week, even when the boys tried not to destroy it. They are iron plated and have lasted several weeks with no signs of wear. WORK - the jaw must be closed to avoid concussion. When my sons shout a piece or a cadence, they can shut up. Lip Protection - You'd be surprised how many little bastards your kids can beat under masks at a time. Cons - They're fat, so it takes some getting used to. until - about a day or two of discomfort - you don't form with hot water despite instructions - it doesn't matter as the purpose of the mouth guard is to prevent the jaw from closing causing a concussion. Teeth must not be covered as your player may be able to breathe with their mouth closed. If you're tired of buying dozens of mouthguards and want to make sure your kid doesn't play with one that doesn't offer protection, $8 will make you feel better.
