The system is normal for the money, there is no moving float arm to break, probably longer in my boat but. It changes level in about 16 steps, not analog. This device is powered by a reed switch I assume. A magnetic float slides up and down the bar, stepping through the resistance. So when you're almost completely discharged, it drops from 8% to zero. Or 100%-92% 86% 78% etc step by step. However, I would buy again for a cheap pressure gauge.
