I've been using the Logitech M570 for about ten years and I really like it. Eventually, after a nasty fall, it started having issues with the buttons, so I had to replace it. I found the M575 (this mouse) as a new version with MX ERGO as an upgrade option (theoretically). After a few days with this mouse I'm not disappointed, although I don't see it as an overall improvement over the M570. For those looking for more explanation, I have a few thoughts. Overall, the build quality seems to have improved. The keys have been modernized, have a little less travel and are a little quieter. It's not the muffled, tactile click of "quiet" mice (which I don't like - I wear headphones most of the day, so I like to feel a clear, sharp click when I press the buttons). The key shapes are now less ergonomic, just flat keys for "next + back" instead of the rhino horn on the M570. It's still comfortable to use and could be more resistant to falls. The trackball for the M575 is a bit rougher than the M570, which was fairly smooth. The rough texture is like dragging a pencil across paper, while the M570 was icy smooth. The included shiny silver ball is totally comfortable to use and is even preferred by many because of the tactile feel of sliding across the page. Although I personally really like the smooth balls and they are exactly the same size, I just swapped them (so I have an M575 mouse body with a blue M570 ball). Sensations of handling: generally from the side of the mouse - By the way, in general, the difference in ergonomics is difficult to see: if there is one, it is very small. I've read that the M575 was slightly larger, but it doesn't feel larger during use. The M570's body is made of smooth glossy plastic, while the M575's gray plastic is a bit more textured. It's not rubberized (which would be great, but does wear out), just slightly textured molded plastic. I really like the textured finish of the new design as it feels a little less rough and sticky. However, the M570 had several ribs running down the sides that served to hold the ring finger and pinky in place and also to keep the hand from slipping. These ridges are much less pronounced on the M575, in fact only the little finger remains. For me, the M570 combs fit my hand perfectly, so I'm sad they're gone. All in all, if you liked the M570, you'll probably like the M575 too. It's not a huge departure: just a more modern take on a design that actually worked. If you're new to using trackballs and looking for a decent thumb trackball, this is a good mouse to start with. There are no extra buttons or bells and whistles here: it's just a solid mouse that should last you for quite a while if you know how to pop the ball and clean the reels from time to time.
