Review on 🔇 Silence is Bliss! BK030 Pure Rock Slim 2, 130W TDP, CPU Cooler by Jason Burnside

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Quiet but hot (and not in a good way)

That's good enough for stock speeds on most CPUs, but stay away if you want to keep things cool. It's more or less useless if you need temperatures below 80C for real workloads like converting audio or video files, rendering or editing images, or other similar tasks that require the power of a modern processor. At 21°C, both CPUs I tried with it ran somewhere between 35° and 40°C. I ended up pulling out an old heatsink that I knew cooled well to confirm if I'd done any bad installation work have or not. The cooler I used was a Zalman CPNS9500A and while I know it's a much better cooler running at minimum fan speed with the same thermal compound, the cooler was still the next best option after a 30C Cooler during a test on Prime95 torture. (Tmax ranged from 50° to 55°C). We must pay tribute, he was absolutely silent. It was completely useless to cool both the Ryzen 5 1600X and the Ryzen 3 2200G. If the sound is too loud for you, just use the standard cooler. You'll get the same or better results while saving some money. Zalman CPU Fan with 92mm LED Fan Display (CNPS9500A LED-CU)
