Review on Swiffer Sweeper Dry Sweeping Pad: Multi Surface Refills with Febreze Lavender - 32 count for Dusters Floor Mop by Angelica Boiter

A MUST for house dust allergy sufferers! Handles even sticky Boston dust!

I've had a severe dust allergy my whole life: as a child I had breathing problems and as an adult hypersensitivity of the skin. I love these Swiffer cloths, although I mainly use them for dusting and not mopping floors. There's just no substitute, so I'm glad they're now available through the Revain subscription and savings program. I've lived in the Boston area for six years now and love it, but I quickly realized that the "dust" here is unlike any other place I've ever lived. First, it's more than that - a week without dusting here makes the office feel like months at any other place I've lived. Second, there is "stickiness" to dust; For example, you can blow on it and it won't move. Maybe because of the proximity to the sea? - although I'm actually in Cambridge, not directly on the coast. It's finally getting dark - almost "smoky" - and I really don't like the thought of inhaling it and sticking it in my lungs. I bought an air purifier and keep it running but still lots of dust. I like using Swiffers because their texture and a certain slight waxy stickiness traps dust and doesn't lift it into the air or onto my skin, which aggravates my allergies, but also doesn't leave a residue like I've tried some wipes and sprays. Because we're in Boston, my apartment has beautiful aged hardwood floors and extensive crown molding that covers 14-foot walls, but it's also very small and my lease requires at least 75% of the floors to be carpeted, so I do actually not "mop" particularly useful. Instead, after vacuuming, I'll take the Swiffer and start at the top, wiping down all of the crown moldings, then use the "dirty" Swiffer to wipe down the exposed floors and edges. It amazes me how much dust they keep collecting even when they are dirty and the floor has already been washed! I use one of Swiffer's fluffy rag sticks to wipe down the ceiling fan and crown moldings, which I can't reach, but while they're good, they don't grab everything as well as regular rags, so I pull them out occasionally. I pulled out the ladder so I can use the rags there too and they work much better. Anyway, the bottom line is I've lived in many places and never found a place that was harder to dust than Boston. [The desert may have had a lot of dust, but at least it was dry and not sticky like Boston! ] So I think this is a real dust-off floor and for me these Swiffer towels are simply irreplaceable!
