3/8 " side will do, 5/16 " side is very short in depth
Good strong magnet and 3/8" -Side is fully rider compliant.The 5/16" side of the bit is too short in my opinion. Look at the pictures and you will see that the shank of a 5/16" bit is inserted about 0.2" before it hits the magnet. unstable. Mine even "fell" on its side (wobbled a bit) a few times when trying to use it. Who knows how long a little will last before the shank wears out or becomes round. You also add in the fact that many of the 5/16" bit ends are beveled (rather than cropped), which is even worse.
