For the price, I doubt this is real leather, but the construction and look is pretty nice. If it is leather, it's very thin leather. It kind of does smell like it, too. I'm not sure if the case itself is protective at all. I feel that if my phone fell, it would not protect at all. I could be wrong.There's no way you can fit more than 1 card per slot. I wouldn't put a dollar bill in either slot (in addition to the cards). They are very tight and don't stretch at all.I have my employee card on the main slot (with the transparent plastic) and a metal plate on the slot that flaps open for my car mount magnet. The phone mounts nicely and the employee time clock at work still reads my employee card. No issues at all there.I think the price, look and functionality are all 5-star worthy
