I'm not a professional chef but I love to cook. My last set of skillets was about 9 years old and while they were top notch (Calphallon) they were the worst looking worn. After much research I settled on the All Clad D5 range and although expensive these pans are well worth the money. I am convinced that the food tastes better in these pans, thanks to the design they heat the food evenly, without hot spots, and when you serve the food it is very hot. water, and almost everything will fall off. Another point; I use these pans with gas and in one instance the gas burner was misaligned (which I didn't notice) leaving black marks on the outside of the pan that couldn't be removed. Add All Clad Stainless Steel Dishwasher Cleaner and your pan will be as good as new in a minute. Buy those pans, but also buy the cleaning supplies.
