For this part on a 1999 contour 4 cylinder engine make sure you know when the engine was made as there are 2 different parts for it.

The problem in my case with my 1999 Ford Contour is that the engine was replaced mid year. If the engine was made before 4-1 of this year, then there is a style. If it is done after 4-1 of the same year, then there is a different style. One block is the same as in the photo, and the other has a threaded body. You need to know which one you have or you will get the wrong one.
