Review on 🐠 Huijukon Double Bio Sponge Filter Foam for Betta Fry Shrimp Breeder Fish Tank: Efficient Aquarium Air Filtration Solution by Jenny Howard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works, much quieter and cheaper

I've always been on the verge of sponge filters, but now that I've expanded and have a lot of tanks, cooktops and canisters they're no longer viable from a maintenance or financial standpoint. In addition, you get both filtration and aeration in a solution made for powdered blue gourami fry and green cichlid fry that I farm. 40 gallon breeders, but it's still fine for bubble nests to do their thing. You have to vacuum the gravel/substrate but this keeps your water clean and most importantly quiet, all you hear are bubbles, my air pump is quiet. Now I can sit in my fish room and enjoy my fish, I use it in 40 gallons. For breeders if you have a struggling rooster or gourami this is God sent the fish will be more active and seem happier with less water movement and noise, small mentally challenged fry of cichlids will not be sucked into the filter and that's not a bad thing clean, that's easy to do with one, just pull out the suds and squeeze the dirt into a bucket or (not both at the same time) under the faucet. They aren't as free as the more expensive hydros hence 4 stars not 5 but for 40 gallons and under with not too many fish they are good. A tip from a lifelong fish farmer. Keep track of service and changes, and you will not have to put Pleco in every tank you have. this is a recipe for a biological/chemical holocaust but i will look up from my soapbox now, i only said that because i saw pictures of tanks loaded with plecos.
