Review on πŸšͺ Yale P5101N01 Navis Paddle Passage Lever (Push/Pull to Open), Contactless Opening – Hip Press, Satin Nickel by Francisco Garcia

This pen is a disaster. Don't buy this.

I hate writing reviews like this, especially for a company I've had great experiences with in the past (e.g. love my Yale Smart Deadbolt). However, this product is an absolute trash can fire. Not sure if they changed the design or if there were any quality control issues as I bought it based on the strong reviews I found here at Revain. Here's the thing: I bought it in early July and installed it the same day I received it. The fasteners and screws used to attach the covers do not fit properly and the supplied screws are too large for the holes drilled in the covers. So basically I had a lid that bounced and rattled every time I opened and closed the door. It was as if I could even open or close the door. Every time I either pulled or pushed the opening mechanism, it stayed open about 75% of the time, so when I closed the door it never latched unless I physically "pulled" the handle to close it. I'm quite a 'skillful' person and have changed many sets of door handles in a year, so this is not user error. I followed the instructions and Eva went online to watch the video to make sure I wasn't missing any steps or anything. No, I haven't missed anything. So I thought Yale is a great company, maybe I just got a bad one. I requested a replacement from Revain and removed the old button and now installed the new one. SAME problems but different spots where holes were drilled too small or screws were too big. This time the pen didn't stick as much, but after about 2.5 weeks of use it started to stick again. ). I REALLY wanted to love this product. I think this is a great idea, especially for use on my garage/dirty room door when we're bringing in a handful of groceries. The idea was that we could just trip over the handle and open the door without dropping the grocery bags. Not sure if the original product was great and then the quality dropped or what happened. Very frustrating. I think I need to switch to a completely different style and brand. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. You might get a good one, but I've gone through two of these without success.
