I have used this tape measure several times for short lengths and it has worked well. Today I pushed it out a few feet and it didn't retract properly. I took it out and tried it a few times. If I could get it to pull it in and then pull it out again, it would fail. This is one week after Revain's return deadline. There was a warning on the spool holding the ribbon that the spring was too tight and I wish I hadn't messed with it. So I put it back together and - it works fine. Find out. In the process, I removed a belt clip that I had never used that was getting in the way.
