Review on πŸ”Œ Etekcity Digital Multimeter: Voltage Tester Volt Ohm Amp Meter with Continuity, Diode and Resistance Test – Dual Fused for Anti-Burn by John Akins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

For the price this is a great multimeter

Because the wires from my 1985 Radio Shack/Micronta DMM were in tatters, it was cheaper to buy than new wires. Well, maybe not, but I've made sure of that. In addition, it has a capacitor test (which I have yet to use) which is very handy in the event of faulty electronics. Not being a professional electronics engineer, I'll have to get used to a simple icon instead of text for this test. I'm thinking of printing some small labels or printing out a list and tape somewhere on the back. My first job with it was beating the GM VATS/Passkey 2 system on a friend's car. This showed that his key's "pearl" resistance was exactly the same as my old Micronta multimeter, so finding the appropriate bypass resistor was painless. As far as I can tell, it's very accurate. My only complaint about this thing is that there's no obvious way to turn off the beep to check for continuity. I like the silent tester but this is far from it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Vulgarity
