I wanted to love him, but I don't.

I really wanted to like it, but it has several significant disadvantages. The concept is fantastic, but it didn't come to fruition. First the cons: First of all, it's difficult to knock down a partner who weighs over 180 pounds. The lowering grip is shorter than the Grigri, making it more sensitive. The range between rest and free fall is small. It's hardly noticeable when descending easier climbers, but if your partner is over 200, then the descent is steep. It's easy to imagine an inexperienced spotter suddenly dropping someone. I wouldn't give it to anyone inexperienced. Second, it is intended to act as an ATC when secured with a leash. This works well until your partner makes a dynamic movement, at which point their movement can activate the camera. This is of course also possible with Grigri, but there is less finger grip on the right side of the device. Also, I'm used to using it as an ATC and keeping my hands completely off it - which is a plus - but then my hands are in the wrong position to hit the camera. Unless your partner is a dynamometer or fast climber, this is not a problem for you. Finally, the internal surfaces are stainless steel, but not the sides. I would like to change the weight to a device without aluminum. Pros: The camera works great. The cam engages at just the right moment and holds tight. Second, it is much lighter than the Grigri. If you're a pro and count ounces but still want a camera, this could be the one for you. Third, like ATC or Grigri, you can use it to belay with the line. Either way, choose! That's cool. The rope will easily pass the camera unless your partner is very fast like ATC. After all, it's new enough that you can show it to the pros and they might not know what it is. In the end I would like to buy Grigri, but now that I have it, it's enough.
