actually none of the suggestions hit me. I had to download the manual and find out. As a first step, I put the batteries in the remote control. In the second step, I pressed and released the power button. In the final step, I pressed the home button for 10 seconds until it stopped blinking and connected to the TV. So that was easy and I hope I was able to help you with that.
