Review on ๐Ÿ›ถ USA-Made Skwoosh Bilge Sponge for Kayaking, Canoeing, Rowing, Boating - Highly Absorbent & Durable by Tim Rushing

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Suitable for light use - Sport

It is what it is. Don't expect much for $16. It absorbs after you break it for a while. Initially, the outer suede layer does not absorb moisture well. You have to push the sponge into the water (which pushes the air out) and then the sponge soaks up the water. When I sit in a kayak and paddle, it's a bit annoying. I want to throw a sponge in the water and it's automatically absorbed. After prolonged use, it will begin to absorb by itself. That's the problem. After you break the sponge, its lifespan is limited at this point. Mine only lasted 3 rides and the outer layer came off completely. Of course I can be a bit rougher because I paddle white water with rapids and used a lot of sponge. It holds 32 ounces of water. I actually checked it. Even though my yellow coating is gone, I will still use the sponge. For recreational use, this is a good sponge. If you're more hardcore, just expect it won't last very long.
