Review on OpenEye Web Services by Logan Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good option if you need an affordable Open Source solution

It is very simple to use as it can be deployed in minutes using only one line command-line interface (CLI). The results are good enough for my needs. I am not happy at all about how slow they respond when there's any issue - even though we have dedicated support from them! We were monitoring our network devices remotely but found that this was getting too expensive so we decided to go open source. Then we came across Openeye which has been really helpful. There're no downsides apart form it being quite pricey compared its competitors like Zabbix or Nagios etc. However, since we've moved over everything works well. The ease with which it can be used to create a model from scratch or load one in from a file. I like that there is no limit to how many models can be loaded into memory. It's not as intuitive as other software out there. In order for me to fully utilize the software I had to spend some time learning it. I am solving a problem where I have to solve hundreds of thousands of molecular structures every year. This tool allows me to do so without having to build each molecule by hand.

Pros
  • How easy you'd setup your own dashboard within seconds after installation; Very low maintenance cost once installed..you don't need an expert staff member working fulltime just because something may happen during business hours while he/she cannot work due absence. You get more resources than others if needed..Very fast response times...Good
