Surprisingly spacious for such a small area. It has enough space for a 2.5 liter tank, sweatshirt, magazines, light jacket/windbreaker, snacks, GPS device, phone and more. The best thing about this bag is the separate storage/compartments. Plenty of other 18L backpacks hold that too, but they're disappointing because you can't keep your personal devices off your hydration bladder, your food off your umbrella, and so on.
