One has to love computers. Especially when nobody can agree on which connection system to use between the main unit and the monitor. In this case it was Dell. There were two DisplayPort connectors, one HDMI, and that was it. So if we're using two monitors - the systems never get set up properly, I'll have to find out. I used a VGA cable with the included VGA to HDMI adapter for one and a USB to VGA cable for the other. It worked, well, most of the time. The monitors just had VGA connectors. The biggest problem was the HDMI adapter - if you encountered it at all, or just felt like trying it, you either lost the signal or, what's more interesting - it rebooted the entire system for no reason. you reboot again. Which brings me to these adapters. I bought two packs and left. Arrived and hooked up the next day. Worked like a charm except I couldn't see my primary monitor --- and then trying to switch back with my old adapters gave the same result. You have to love Dell for that. So I left the adapters installed in the DisplayPort connectors and did a hard reset of the system using the power button ---- figured it out on my own. I just had to swap the monitors left and right. Once that was done --- they worked great. I really like two features: First, the VGA cable can be screwed firmly into the adapter. This is a big problem with the rat's nest of wires that are under the table. The second was also of great importance - the DisplayPort connector is blocked. It might not seem like a lot to some, but when everyone is being nudged, shoved, cornered and just generally abused - it's comforting to know they can't be knocked out or pulled out. As a whole – work as it is necessary and necessary. The price was great and the issues listed above were related to the system I was running, not the adapters. Just providing some information for others who may be in the same boat at some point.
