After reading many different reviews of various portable air conditioners I finally bought this one, it was definitely worth every penny, you can't put a price on a good night's sleep. It's definitely cold and cools the room down pretty quickly. Other reviews have talked about draining the unit, but I live in California and the humidity is around 80% on the worst days. Compared to the prices of other devices, this is by far the best value for money. The only downside I see with this is that a low fan in a high fan really doesn't matter, and in a room under 200 square feet you'll have a hard time not freezing as this unit is pretty cold is. A lot of the reviews talk about the noise level I read, one person said it sounded like a hair dryer which is about right. I have to sleep with some noise anyway so it doesn't bother me. Also, make sure you read the instructions so that the device is plugged into an outlet and no other plugs are plugged into that particular outlet. The included window vent kit was about 6 inches shorter than my window. I used some of the styrofoam that came in the package to fill in the gap, nothing can be taped in place. I personally bought the warranty, it's a 3 year extended warranty as this gives me confidence to have a good device for the next 3 years. Overall I would definitely recommend it, it won't cool the whole house, I live in a one bedroom apartment, the room cools and maintains it. very cool approx. 350 sqm.
