Installed in my polyurethane truck to reduce clutter and increase utility. The device comes with connectors for cables, but without wiring. I used 14 gauge wire with the connectors that came with it and used a wire stripper/plier tip to attach the connector to the cable, which allowed for more crimping power. The device is made of durable plastic, but it's open at the bottom - not waterproof. The jars are plastic with a plastic nut for attachment. A nut was too big and couldn't fix the USB connector tightly without slipping off the threads. I had to wrap the USB threads with pipe thread tape to get a tight fit. The device is compact with a robust housing that suits my application well. Although the ports are illuminated in blue, the covers must be open to see the light.
