I have used a badly rusted hand grater for many years and finally decided to buy a new one. After having an exceptional customer service experience with Spring Chef, I decided to replace my old grater with the new XL stainless steel grater they sell. The grater comes in easy-to-remove packaging and is wrapped in plastic wrap. It's very solidly built. The handle seems very strong and stable. She's a little bigger than I expected, but she's not bad and she has to grate a lot of food before she needs to be emptied. The photo I posted shows the grater next to a 24 ounce stainless steel jar for size comparison. Like most box graters, it has different blades on each side for different types of food processing: coarse grater, medium grater, disk grater, and slicer. The underside of the grater has a rubber coating that prevents the grater from slipping when used on a counter or plate. The cover can be removed for cleaning if required, although the grater can be washed in the dishwasher. I don't think it's necessary to remove the rubber ring much, if at all, to keep it clean. I used it this morning to grate some sharp cheddar cheese and it was easy to hand peel. Overall I am very happy with this grater. This is a welcome replacement for my old, rusty hand grater. Spring Chef has already shown me how well they stand behind their products and I have no doubt they will stand by this product just as well.
