The locking mechanism is very weak.
Unlike the Stant brand caps I'm used to, this motorcycle cap has a very awkward locking mechanism that for some reason is quite difficult to snap open. It doesn't lock automatically after the cap is tightened like the Stant brand. This lid only locks when the key is turned and I've tried turning it both ways and sometimes it locks but most of the time it stays unlocked. I don't usually understand mechanical devices, so this confused me.
